If there is one thing that I have noticed in today's society, it's that it goes without saying that you should hide your emotions. For example, this whole anti-emo craze. In society it has become common to make fun of 'emo' kids; it's not cool to be one. When you really look at it, all that says is that it's not cool to be sad and show it. I don't know that we will need to invent robots, we will become them ourselves.
This may just seem like a random ramble to you, perhaps you don't relate it to the photo in any way. It's not what I intended when I took it, but it's what I felt after really studying it.
This tree is dead, and hurting. But in my eyes, it's much more beautiful than all the others that look exactly the same.
I completely agree with you. Now that we have people actually showing their emotions and expressing themselves, we have a growing crowd of people criticizing them for it. I hope the bashing dies out and the emotion remains, because we need it in this world.
Beautiful picture, by the way.

i love the photo, and you're right it is more beautiful than all the others. but..well i dont know if maybe things are different where you are, but people here make fun of emo kids because its a "look" not a way to be anymore. emo used to be about the emotional pain and then everyone reduced it to boys with girl hair over one eye and girl pants and black zip-up hoodies. i dont make fun of people who have their own look or people who choose to express their depression or melancholy if thats what they're feeling. i make fun of the Hot Topic-made clones because they claim to be so different and that they make up their own style, but then 5 other people walk by wearing the exact same thing that claim the exact same thing. ok i'm done, sorry, long comment.

~~you know what you should do?
you should look at my gallery.......because i love you ~~
I think people who limit themselves by applying labels such as "emo" to describe the myriad of emotions and thoughts and life that make up each individual human being.....are interesting.
Plus, if you were truly in touch with your emotions, why would you give a shit about being cool?
Beautiful photo, I find decaying things much more interesting, visually, then groups of thriving things. After all, we live in a constant state of decay right? I can relate to that tree.

We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
